Razanj was traditionally a small fisherman village, but a construction of vacation houses and tourist buildings began during 1970s which made it into a town.

Razanj is populated by 180 inhabitants today. Costal area holds a large number of family houses that serve as summer vacation residence. Recently local riva was constructed with marked docs, sea entrances and promenade. Since it is in distance from the main road (6-7 km from the main road in Podorljak) and protected by hills, village Ražanj retained its quiet Dalmatian atmosphere.
